To All,

Temple University requires all international students in Nonimmigrant
Student (F-1 or J-1) status to maintain health insurance that meets
certain minimum standards as determined by the United States Department
of State. The minimum health insurance coverage as determined by the
Department of State is

• A maximum deductible of U.S.$500 per accident or illness
• Payment of at least 75% of covered expenses
• Medical benefits of at least U.S.$50,000 per accident or illness
• Repatriation benefits of at least U.S.$7,500
• Medical evacuation benefits of at least U.S.$10,000

All international students in Nonimmigrant Student (F-1 or J-1) status
are required either to enroll officially in the University-sponsored
program or to waive out of this requirement providing proof of
comparable "outside" coverage to the Office of Benefits.

International students in nonimmigrant Student (F-1 or J-1) status will
be charged U.S.$969.84 on their Fall Semester, 2007, tuition and fees
bills. This charge represents U.S.$909.84 for the University-sponsored
CompSelect health insurance program and U.S.$60.00 for the Medical
Evacuation and Repatriation program; this provides coverage at the
single student rate for a twelve-month period (September 1, 2007,
through August 31, 2008). Individuals who wish to add their dependents
to their insurance policies may do so by enrolling them at the time of
enrollment and will be required to pay an additional premium.

You should note that paying this fee alone does not meet the
University's requirement. To have insurance coverage, all students
must, in addition to paying the fee, enroll in a health insurance plan
offered through the Office of Benefits.

Below my signature line, please find a copy of a memorandum from the
Office of Benefits/Human Resources with detailed information on
enrolling for this mandatory medical health insurance through OWLNet.

For additional information, please visit the Student Insurance web site
at http://www.temple.edu/hr/students/index.html or contact the Office of
Human Resources/Benefits by telephone at (215) 204-1321.

Thank you.

Martyn
